Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 May 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Boolba ("we", "us") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you use our website and services in Australia.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you give us when you create a profile or post a job, which may include:
- Your name and contact details, including your phone number and email address.
- Profile details: trade, skills, qualifications and tickets, availability and desired pay rates.
- For employers: business details and the jobs you post.
- Technical data such as device and usage information collected automatically.
2. How we use your phone number and SMS
Your phone number is central to how Boolba works. We use it to match you to relevant jobs and to send activity check-in text messages (for example, asking whether you’re still looking for work, which you answer by replying Y or N).
- When you match with a job, we provide your contact details to that employer so they can reach out to you directly about the opportunity. Employers pay us for this — it’s how Boolba stays free for workers.
- We do not sell your details to advertisers or unrelated third parties.
- We do not publish your phone number on a public profile.
- You can stop the check-in texts at any time by replying as instructed or contacting us.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to operate and improve the service, including to:
- Match workers and employers and let employers contact suitable workers.
- Keep profiles active and relevant via the SMS mechanic.
- Provide support and respond to your enquiries.
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Who we share it with
The core service involves sharing your details with employers so they can hire you. Specifically, we share information with:
- Employers who match with you — your profile details, and, when they choose to make contact, the contact details they need to reach out about a job. Employers pay Boolba to make that contact.
- Service providers who help us run Boolba, such as hosting and SMS delivery.
- Authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or unrelated third parties.
5. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as required to meet our legal obligations.
6. Your rights
You can access or correct your personal information, or ask us to delete your account, at any time by contacting us.
